Description

It is a ESR (Electro Slag Remelted) steel developed with the aim of overcoming the most severe cold working applications. The excellent combination of compressive strength, wear resistance and the combination of fragmentation/fracture resistance was achieved through a balanced chemical composition and a fine, clean and homogeneous microstructure. The appropriate heat treatment and high fatigue resistance make this material the perfect substrate for coating. It has excellent weldability, temperability, machinability and grinding qualities, making it possible to carry out cold working tools in severe applications, economically both in terms of manufacturing and maintenance, especially in large tools.

Main applications

  • Medium-series dies and punches where high shock resistance and compressive strength are required
  • Ideal for work with high strength steels
