Description

Cold working pulverometallurgical steel offering high wear resistance in combination with good toughness. Due to the careful balance of the alloying elements and the pulverometallurgical process itself, the heat treatment is similar to that of C265. Noteworthy is the dimensional stability after heat treatment when compared to high performance steels produced by conventional methods. This feature also means that it is a good basis for surface coatings and it is suitable for very long series tools where the main failure mechanism is abrasive wear. It is a steel with an excellent combination of high resistance to abrasive wear and good toughness, being an interesting alternative to tools executed in carburized steels, hard metal or high-speed steels that have a tendency to fragment or fracture.

  • Dies and punches
  • Cutting and stamping tools for large series and complex shapes in particular for stainless steels
  • Cutting blades (adhesive wear resistance)
