In certain specific applications, either due to the characteristics of the raw material or the type of work to be performed (deep drawing) or the high number of parts to be produced, adhesive wear and seizing are the main mechanisms and points of failure. In these cases, and until recently, the only hypothesis would be to resort to costly surface coatings.
